Obituary Notice - Mr. Vipula Janashantha Posted by Hakim A Usoof (2011/11/11)

Mr. Vipula Janashantha, the upper school Dancing Master of Trinity College passed away on 10th November 2011. He joined Trinity in 1988/89 after the retirement of Mr. Karunadasa Rajapakse. Even prior to his employment at Trinity Mr. Janashantha had strong bonds with Trinity, touring with the National Dance Troupe on many occasions. Under him the National Dance Troupe won many International dancing competitions in addition to numerous All Island dancing competitions.

He will be greatly missed by Trinity and his students. He leaves behind his wife and daughter.

Mr. Janashantha will lie in state at the College Hall for final respects from 2.30 p.m. on Sunday 13th November 2011. The funeral will take place at Mahayyawa General Cemetery later in the evening.
